Description:

  • Supervise the Banquet Servers, Porters and Bartenders on a day to day basis
  • Must adhere to the appearance and grooming policy
  • Ensure floor presence and walk about prior to client arrivals.
  • Handle all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism.
  • Attend all pre-event and post-event meeting with clients, guests, and catering staff.
  • Hold pre-function meetings with banquet team, ensuring proper staffing and understanding of service.
  • Assigns job tasks and stations of the Banquet Servers.
  • Supervises the Banquet Servers during the shift and ensures friendly, courteous and efficient service is extended to all guests.
  • Assists the Banquet Servers throughout their functions.
  • Attend daily BEO Meetings
  • Assist Banquet Manager with scheduling and payroll.
  • Maintains Banquet operating standards as dictated by the Manager
  • To ensure Quarterly linen / glass / china / silver / bqt equipment inventories are scheduled and recorded properly. Reviewing with F & B Manager items of need. Ensuring tools required for jobs are readily available.
  • Ensures required equipment is available for events.
  • Requisitions liquor, wine, beer where appropriate.
  • Work closely with the Kitchen to coordinate food presentation and delivery times
  • Advise staff of formal policies and procedures
  • Keeps the Banquet Manager informed of all activities
  • Maintains a high level of cleanliness, sanitation and safety within the outlet in accordance to health regulations and Safety Program
  • Enforces provincial/territorial liquor legislation and regulations
  • To be aware and actively participate as part of the hotel fire emergency response team and ensure that all on duty staff are aware of their responsibility in case of emergency.
  • Complete any tasks assigned by the Banquet Manager.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

· A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment
· Ability to stand for long periods of time and walk moderate distances
· Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.
· Must have previous experience with a computerize point of sale system, excel, word and outlook.
· Adaptable, flexible, reacts and adjusts to last minute requests in a positive manner.
· Must be service oriented, and able to identify opportunities to better serve our guests.
· Great attention to details with high standards of service.
· Food Safe, Smart Serve and WHMIS Certification

EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:

· 3-5 years of previous hospitality or tourism experience required.
· 1-2 years of Managerial experience preferred
· University/College an asset; Bachelor’s Degree or Hotel Management preferred.
