Description:

Talbot Hotel Wexford, part of the Talbot Collection are currently recruiting for an experienced Assistant Bar Manager to join our growing team. The successful candidate will support the Bar Manager & Area General Manager of the Talbot Collection Wexford in the day-to-day running of the business. The newly appointed Assistant Bar Manager will primarily be based in the Talbot Hotel Wexford, however, will also be expected to assist in the operations of the company’s other revenue properties in Wexford, subject to business needs. The Assistant Bar Manager must have food & beverage experience and will be required to be ‘hands on’.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Previous experience in a similar role;
Be highly motivated and driven to achieve targets;
Food & beverage experience;

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the smooth running of the Bar in line with company’s SOPs, predetermined budgets, and all relevant legislation.
  • To act as liaison between the Bar Manager and the Bar Staff to identify the strengths and potentials of each person talents.
  • Support the Bar Manager in developing, training and coaching bar staff to the standards required by the Hotel.
  • Assist in creating, updating, and implement departmental SOPs.
  • Ensure the bar is always ready for business.
  • Allocate and support staff throughout the shift to maintain speed of service and cleanliness of the bar.
  • Ensure the Bar is prepared for set up in advance of each shift and in accordance with relevant SOPs.
  • Ensure that all staff arrive to work on time and in correct uniform and name badge as per schedule and adhere to Clocking Policy.
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of beverages to meet set standards.
  • Delegate duties and tasks to staff to meet objectives and maximize resources.
  • Support the Bar Manager in carrying out promotions on food/drink products.
  • Oversee the bar display to maximize functionality and attractiveness.
  • To be aware of the day’s business in all Departments within the Hotel.
  • Maintain regular communication with staff and management through meetings, discussions and Handovers.
  • Communicate our services and facilities to guests as required.
  • To liaise with all other Heads of Departments and Duty Managers to ensure high quality of service is always achieved.
  • To work in conjunction with the Area General Manager, Operations Manager and Bar Manager to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the department and overall Business.
  • Attendance at all Operational and HOD Meetings in the absence of the Bar Manager.
  • Detailed check of deliveries for accuracy and quality of product.
  • Ensuring stock is received and secured in stock room on delivery.
  • Manage the ordering of supplies in the absence of the Br Manager.
  • Ensure stock rotation is applied when storing deliveries and that the correct storage method is applied to each product.
  • Monitored stock levels throughout the shift and replenish as required.
  • Monitor the recording of any wastage.
  • Support the Bar Manager to complete regular stock audits and inventories.
  • Management of cash handling procedures of department in accordance with company policy.
  • Ensure all staff are imputing all orders through the till correctly and no open checks are left at the end of the shift.
  • Ensure the tills opening and closing procedures are done according to the company’s SOP.
  • In the absence of the Bar Manager review and control the weekly payroll and expenditure for the Department in line with budget.
