  • Provide support for students across the restaurant, at functions, events, and Pantry operations

NGĀ PŪKENGA ME NGĀ WHEAKO - SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • New Zealand Certificate in Cookery Level 4 or equivalent
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Experience in a commercial kitchen
  • Experience in food production, preparation, cooking and serving
  • Experience working within a kitchen team
  • Sound literacy skills
  • Experience in following written procedures and operational manuals
  • Strong customer service ethic
  • Integrity and honesty
  • Highly motivated-self starter
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse mix of staff across all levels of the organisation

Responsibilities:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the team at Ara. You will assist with the day-to-day operations within the Operations team of Visions on Campus Restaurant & Pantry.
With your experience as an assistant chef, you will prepare food and manage kitchen operations, supporting the training restaurant, functions and events. You will support chef training in consultation with the Chef and Operations Manager, and supervise trainee chefs.
Working with academic staff, you’ll develop a range of menus for the training restaurant functions and events and the Pantry.
