QUALIFICATIONS:
5 years’ experience in the same field in hospitality. Preferably have served an indentured apprenticeship in electrical or mechanical discipline. Qualified to a minimum of HNC/HND in electrical/electronic or mechanical engineer. Willing to take a hands-on practical lead when business needs necessitate.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide teams across multiple locations.
- Experience in leading multiple Maintenance Managers and overseeing complex multi-site operations.
- Excellent knowledge of building systems, equipment, and relevant regulations.
- Experience in budget management with a focus on cost efficiency and resource allocation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- A proactive and hands-on approach to managing maintenance tasks and projects.
- Familiarity with health and safety standards and regulations within the hospitality sector.
- Available for weekend duty on a rota system.

Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE:
As the Group Deputy Engineering Director, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of all engineering services across multiple hotel sites. In this role, you will manage the Maintenance Managers across the properties and will take charge of all engineering operations in the absence of the Director of Engineering. You will focus on safety, performance, and compliance, while ensuring each hotel maintains our high brand standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the day-to-day engineering operations of multiple hotels, ensuring that maintenance standards are upheld.
- Support and supervise the Maintenance Managers to ensure consistent service delivery across all sites.
- Act as the Director of Engineering in their absence, ensuring continuity of operations and decision-making.
- Lead preventative maintenance programmes, ensuring all work is completed in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Work collaboratively with hotel teams to minimise disruption to guest experiences.
- Manage budgets and resources efficiently, contributing to the financial performance of the hotels.
- Drive strategic initiatives to improve operational performance, energy efficiency, and sustainability.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, statutory requirements, and brand standards.
- Lead and support a team of skilled maintenance professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
- Liaise with external contractors and suppliers to ensure timely and quality service delivery.
