Our friendly team at Meallmore are looking for an Asssitant Chef to join them at our 32 bedded facility The Oaks Care Home. Conveniently located on the outskirts of Glasgow, The Oaks is a high-quality facility offering care for vulnerable people with mental health problems with a focus on restoring confidence and enabling them to live independent lives.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Preparing home cooked nutritious meals for our residents
• Strong culinary skills and creativity to prepare appetizing meals.
• Proficiency in food safety practices
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Relevant culinary qualifications are desirable
• Knowledge of nutrition, dietary requirements and food allergies is desirable

• Assist the Head Chef to plan, prepare, and cook meals according to dietary requirements and preferences of our residents.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Ensure Food is prepared and served in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless food service and resident satisfaction.
• Stay updated with industry trends and introduce innovative ideas to enhance the dining experience.
• Adhere to food budget guidelines and assist in minimising waste.
