Availability: Monday-Friday; Hours will vary based on school/branch. Must be available for shifts between 6:00am-6:30 pm.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum age 18, 21 preferred
- Two or more years working in licensed School-Age Care program, with children in a developmentally appropriate group setting. YMCA experience, preferred.
- Meet educational and experience qualifications established by DCYF (Dept. of Children, Youth and Families
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent;
- Complete thirty college credits in any one hundred-level or above college coursework or equivalent;
OR
- Have completed at least twelve college credits in any one hundred-level or above college coursework or equivalent AND complete an additional eighteen college credits in any one hundred-level or above coursework or equivalent within five years of employment
- Provide document of all certification and training requirements established by DCYF, including position prerequisites, current negative TB test, fully vaccinated for MMR/other required vaccinations, and portable background check
- Experience planning, organizing, and implementing high quality developmentally appropriate programming
- Experience working with individuals, families and communities of diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Fluency in second language desired

The full pay range for this position is $20.95-$33.30.
Responsibilities:
WHAT YOU WILL DO AT THE Y:
As the Assistant Site Coordinator in Year-Round School Age Care programs, you will step in to lead a before and after school program and/or day camp when the Site Coordinator is not present. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the delivery of developmentally appropriate activities and curriculum to participants, promoting participant safety and engagement in alignment with DCYF and YMCA policies, practices, and procedures. You will play a crucial role in fostering professional relationships with families, facility/school personnel, and the community.
This is an in-person, part-time sub role. Shifts are a combination of AM programming (6:20am to start of school) and afternoon programming (end of the school day to 6/6:30pm M-F), and full day care on all no school days and over summer break. The position is a sub position and includes being able to substitute at any of our SAC sites when needed. Hours and shifts are determined by the school schedules.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure compliance with state and local regulations in addition to YMCA standards and procedures
- Implement daily lesson and activity plans in culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate ways.
- Maintains required child/staff ratio. Provides direct, active supervision to a group of children to ensure their health and safety and to provide for a positive experience for each child.
- Support children in learning social-emotional skills for a successful future.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships and effective communication with YMCA staff, families, school personnel, community partners and stakeholders.
- Provide families appropriate feedback and information as needed for their child to be a successful.
- Maintain materials, equipment, and program facility
- Attend staff meetings and trainings as required
- Performs other duties as assigned
