The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking an Assistant Commissioner, State Operations to provide a critical role within Emergency Management Victoria.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Assistant Commissioner, State Operations will be a strong people leader and problem solver, with senior experience in emergency management coordination and operations, and a demonstrated commitment to working closely with senior leaders across EMV to ensure the highest standards of performance, integrity and coordination are achieved.

Some of your duties will include:

• Lead the State Operations Business Unit to achieve the high standards of performance, accountability, collaboration, manage the allocation of resources, budgets, business and project planning and reporting; and demonstrate a strong commitment to a positive culture and the development of staff.
• Provide leadership, direction and planning to ensure the effective delivery of statutory accountabilities of EMV, the Chief Executive, the Emergency Management Commissioner and the priorities of government in emergency management.
• Lead the team in managing service delivery, major projects and initiatives, including the operation, resourcing and financial management of the State Control Centre.

• A strong understanding of the processes and levers that apply to Government.
• Experience in emergency management is desirable
