Description:
Moree Plains Shire Council is seeking a highly motivated individual to work as an Assistant Community Development Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the coordination of events and programs aimed at improving community well-being. You will also provide administrative assistance to ensure the smooth operation of our initiatives.
- Permanent full-time career opportunity – 35 hours per week
- Location - Moree
- Attractive weekly salary ranging from $1,313.95 up to $1,511.00 (PLUS Superannuation) depending on qualifications and experience

- Rostered day off every 3 weeks - an extra 17 days off a year!
Council is looking for someone who has the following qualities, experience and/or qualifications:
- Certificate IV and/or Diploma in Business Administration or equivalent
- Proficiency in Business Administration through prior experience and acquired knowledge.
- Well developed time management and organisational skills, with the ability to exercise judgement when required.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work both as a team member and unsupervised; the ability to maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to positively respond to a wide range of people and present in a professional and courteous manner with proven ability and commitment to maintain confidentiality.
- Proven excellence in internal and external customer service focus, including provision of requested information and follow through on request.
- NSW Working With Children Check.
- Current Class C Drivers Licence.
- White Card (General Construction and Induction card)
Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Support the Community Development Coordinator in planning and executing events and programs
- Assist in maintaining partnerships with community stakeholders and government agencies
- Help address the needs of diverse community groups through collaborative initiatives
- Provide administrative support for meetings, reports, and documentation
Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award 2023.
