WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

  • Minimum 3 years experience industry experience preferably in grounds maintenance.
  • Proficient understanding of contract agreements, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with senior managers and stakeholders.
  • Full clean driving license
  • IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent
  • PA1A, PA6A is desirable

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

Commercial Services Group is seeking an Assistant Grounds Maintenance Contracts Manager to join our Landscape Services brand to cover East Kent. The Assistant Contracts Manager is a key part of the management structure here at Landscape Services, responsible for supporting with both the services we deliver for our customers, and the wellbeing and requirements of our staff. As our ‘second in command’, you will be expected to assist in organising and overseeing the scheduled maintenance of contracts within your geographical area, for customers which including schools, parishes, roundabouts, waste sites and ad-hoc works - all to contractual specification
To be successful within this role you will benefit from knowledge of grounds maintenance and landscaping operations, as well as your local area. The ideal candidate will be organised and resourceful and have prior low-level management or team leader experience. This role will see you at times instructing and organising staff through proactive planning of routes and rounds, whilst ensuring resource, material and contract requirements are met.
This role requires a full clean drivers license and an Enhanced DBS Check (carried out by us) , please consider this prior to making your application.

KEY DUTIES:

  • Ownership of key administrative responsibilities within the areas they co-manage. This will include; depot inspections, site inspections, sourcing and ordering of goods, reporting on incidents.
  • Assisting in the daily and weekly scheduling and management of the operational teams’ workload, ensuring specific routes and rounds are followed, and recommending alternative solutions with consideration to geography, customer type and equipment required.
  • Attending customer and site meetings alongside the Regional Contracts Manager. Developing an understanding of – and assisting with – the pricing and supply of quotations for ad-hoc works.
  • Undertaking various safety inspections for the purpose of better protecting our staff, customers and the public. This may include site safety inspections, vehicle inspections and equipment checks.
  • Planning, organising and supervising all equipment, staff and materials to avoid wastage and ensure compliance with required standards. Ensuring chemical usage complies with current legislation.
  • Acting as support and deputy for the Regional Contracts Manager as required. Stepping into operational duties during periods of high staff sickness, leave or busier seasons.
