Responsibilities:

THE ROLE:

Canco is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to support key duties for the Financial Controller and Accounting Team. The right candidate will work with the team to meet the department’s goals by supporting the Financial Controller with required tasks. They will take leading in supporting the Accountants and Bookkeepers with day-to-day task.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support in the preparation of financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement).
  • Support the accounting team in daily tasks and general inquires.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of internal accounting procedures
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Aid in analyzing financial data and providing insight for management decision-making.
  • Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Monitor financial market trends and assess potential impacts on the company.
  • Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and filing requirements.
  • Continuously improve financial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Manage and develop a team of accounting professionals, ensuring high performance and professional growth.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the finance department.
  • Work in collaboration with the Financial Controller.
  • Other duties as required.
