Assistant Controller

Our construction client located in Kitchener is looking to add an Assistant Controller to their team! This role will report to the CFO while managing the accounting month-end, financial statements and project accounting. This could be a great next step in your career if you are a Project Accountant and looking for the right next step to get into management.

Requirements:

• To be considered you must have 2 plus years of experience in the construction industry
• You must have either have CPA designation or close to completion.
• Strong attention to detail
• Must have the ability to communicate financials to non-finance peopl

• Handle month and year end process
• Oversee monthly project draw
• Monitor Budgets and forecast
• Work closely with Project Manager to analyze project financials
• Create, implement, and oversee process improvements
• Work closely with management to oversee strategic plans and continue growing the team and company
• Manage coach and lead accounting staff
• Assist with ad-hoc projects as needed
