Description:
What is the Opportunity?
Based in Toronto and reporting to the Controller, the Assistant Controller will utilize their passion for finance as well as technical savvy to support the management of day-to-day accounting transactions and activities required to support the operations of Entuitive. This role supports the management of all accounting functions including monthly consolidation, financial reporting, audit process and statutory reporting.
The Assistant Controller also has a role in working with the other accounting professionals on the team to support the company’s financial plans and policies and accounting practices in accordance with compliance and legislative requirements. The Assistant Controller will ensure all work is carried out in full support of our Vision, Mission, Values and One Company culture.
What will you do?
- Work closely with the Controller and external audit team to support the annual external review process and tax compliance including aiding in preparation of year end financial statements, while following proper controls and measures.
- Assist with the preparation, balancing and distribution of monthly financial statements ensuring accuracy and error-free statements. This may include variance analysis and month-over-month trending.
- Support the the month-end and year-end financial close process and review of month-end reconciliations within established timelines.
- Support the management of P&L results to ensure overall company financial targets are met.
- Assist with the preparation of Board materials including a detailed overview of corporate performance and management commentary.
- Leverage technology (automation and apps) to implement operational improvements to the finance reporting, budgeting systems and planning tools.
- Assist with the implementation of new ERP system and reporting and analytical tools.
- Provide support to the other Finance Team members as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
What do you need to succeed?
- Bachelor’s degree, working towards a CPA (CGA or CMA).
- 5+ years related experience working within a professional services consulting firm.
- Must have working knowledge of Excel (Advanced Excel skills would be preferred).
- Strong analysis and problem-solving ability to meet client and company needs.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills when dealing with the employees and service providers.
- Must be well organized with the ability to multi-task in a deadline driven environment, while possessing strong time management skills.
