Assistant Controller

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Lambert Nemec Group, Manitoba’s Premier Specialized Recruitment Firm has been engaged by our client, a well established and growing company. We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Controller to join our client’s team.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and must possess a recognized Canadian accounting designation, CPA (CA, CGA CMA).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
• Highly analytical, detail-oriented team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting
• Public Practice experience would be considered an asset
• Must have vehicle and be able to work in-office

• Handle the monthly recording of journal entries, covering accruals, depreciation, and prepaid expenses, with oversight of AP.
• Analyze and report on variances in expenses against both budgeted and prior year figures.
• Conduct thorough reviews of financial statements and balance sheets each month.
• Manage timelines to ensure all necessary filings and reports are completed on schedule.
• Supervise a small team
• Contribute to the development of budgets and financial plans.
