Kot Auto Group is looking for an Assistant Controller to join our team, based out of our Okanagan Dodge dealership. This position reports to the Senior Group Controller, Vice President of Operations, General Manager and President.
Office working hours Monday to Friday 8 AM to 4:30 PM.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting (an asset)
- CPA designation (an asset)
- Experience with PBS would be considered an asset
- Experience in an automotive accounting role would be considered an asset; and
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Proficient knowledge of Office 365, especially Word and Excel.
- Experience in growing companies
- Excellent teamwork and ability to work well with various levels of staff and management.
- Analytical skills to review data
- Able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
- Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities:
- Supports the Senior Group Controller in the following tasks:
- On a monthly basis, prepare required reports and documentation of all aged accounts receivable detail including a determination of the allowance for a doubtful account and/or accounts receivable write-offs.
- On a daily basis, maintain bank, credit cards, and all daily accounting functions.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements, accruals, journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Monitor and manage all accounts payables in a timely manner.
- Prepare month-end accounting entries.
- Prepare payroll for processing at head office
- Prepare monthly financial forecasts and compare them to actual results.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly regulatory remittances. Maintain compliance with all local, provincial, and federal laws and regulations including GST, Corp Taxes, etc.
- Ensure the proper and timely billing of all receivables, including individual, group, and credit cards. Follow through and documents all written and verbal collection efforts for all accounts receivable. Respond to all inquiries regarding accounts receivable.
- Provide support for annual reviews including preparation of working papers.
- Continually look and recommend improvements and efficiencies to current accounting practices.
- Analyze spending trends and manage cash flow on a daily basis.
- Take on additional duties as required by the Owner/Director of Accounting/ General Manager.

- Monitor, develop and implement procedures and policies to maintain and improve internal controls.
