Description:

Our client in the media industry is searching for a meticulous and experienced Assistant Controller to join their team in Nashville, Tennessee. The role includes managing audits, overseeing profit and loss, preparing financial statements, and assisting with tax returns. This role is a hybrid work environment, with a team of 4-5 members and offers a short-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the management of audits to ensure compliance with financial regulations and maintain financial control.
  • Handle the preparation and analysis of profit and loss statements to track the company’s financial performance.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial statements and reports to provide accurate financial information to management.
  • Assist with tax returns to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
  • Manage and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Utilize accounting software systems to streamline and automate financial processes.
  • Work closely with the CFO on busy projects and year-end activities.
  • Handle accruals and prepaids to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Consolidate financial reports to the UK, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
  • Oversee the financial functions of the business and ensure all financial and accounting operations are carried out effectively and efficiently.
  • Proficiency in NetSuite would be helpful but not required
  • Media industry experience preferred but not required for a strong Accounting leader
  • Ability to perform Accounting Functions
  • Strong Excel skills are required
  • Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Auditing skills
  • Experience in managing Billing Functions
