We are seeking an Assistant Controller to be an integral team member supporting the Summit Ford finance and administration departments. The ideal candidate has 5 years of automotive accounting experience, is an organized self-starter and team player who is proficient in Reynolds systems.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 3 years of related automotive accounting industry experience
  • College Diploma or University Degree
  • Experience with Reynolds/Ignite Systems, and proficient in PC-based software ex. Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision, and meet deadlines consistently
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, and ability to multi-task effectively

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the Standard Accounting System in accordance with the Dealership’s guidelines and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

o Post all month end entries, accruals and adjustments in order to complete a preliminary financial statement

  • Prepare a preliminary financial statement by the 4th business day of each month.
  • Control all posted documents including but not limited to: time records, vehicle deals, commissions, and additions and changes to inventory.
  • Reconcile all schedules and accounts monthly i.e. accounts receivables, car accounts, etc.
  • Posting of new vehicle and pre-owned vehicle deals.
  • Reconcile the GL accounts to the bank statement on a monthly basis.
  • Assist in the training and supervising of administrative personnel.
  • Assist in completion of annual review/audit.
  • Prepare and submit payroll i.e., commissions, benefit amounts, accounts receivable, taxable benefits, etc.,
  • Prepare tax reports, tax deposits and tax returns in a timely, and accurate manner.
  • Prepare employee Group Benefit payments and RRSP contributions monthly.
  • Prepare sales commission/chargeback reports.
  • Maintain confidential employee files.
  • Coordinate and / or cooperate with special projects or tasks as assigned.
  • Prepare reports and perform other administrative duties as requested by Managers, Controllers, and President.
