JOB DESCRIPTION
The Ford Agency is actively recruiting for an experienced Assistant Controller to join a DC financial trade association. This individual reports to and works closely with the Controller to ensure that all accounting functions and processes are completed accurately and efficiently. The successful candidate will have at least 8 years’ experience in non-profit accounting, excellent project management skills, and leadership experience.
Responsibilities Include:
- Oversee and ensure accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end close
- Manage, train and mentor staff accountants
- Process bi-monthly payroll
- Process and report monthly fixed assets
- Assist the Controller in managing the accounting team’s workload
- Ensure compliance with GAAP
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 8+ years of high level accounting experience
- CPA required
- Experience working with Oracle NetSuite
- Knowledge of not for profit and GAAP accounting
- Technical skills: MS Excel
- Ability to juggle ongoing projects, manage conflicting deadlines and a self-directed willingness to take ownership of the role
