Description:
We are looking to recruit a dynamic and resourceful Assistant Data Protection Officer in our Data Protection team. The Data Protection Office Shared Services Department is an advisory service, consisting of a team of skilled and experienced individuals who are solely focused on delivering legal advice in relation to data protection legislation to its respective organisations, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and North West London Integrated Care Board.
The team consists of four specific sub-teams that are specialising in the following areas:
Primary Care – targeted towards delivering data protection advice to 370 + General Practices (GP’s)
Systems – targeted towards delivering data protection advice to ICHT and NWL ICB
Research / Secondary Use – targeted towards delivering data protection advice to ICHT and NWL ICB
Privacy – targeted towards delivering data protection advice to ICHT and NWL ICB.
Sitting within the “Privacy” Sub-Team and reporting directly to the Privacy Officer in the DPO Shared Services Team, the Assistant Data Protection Officer will be responsible for managing all “Privacy” related matters and providing a data protection advisory service to the respective organisations.
Responsibilities:
Management of incidents, for example: potential data breaches including alleged abuse of authorised/unauthorised access, tampering/altering of personal data, and loss of availability of personal data.
Management of requests from data subjects exercising their rights as listed under Article 15-22 of the EU GDPR.
Management of spot checks to ensure continual data protection best practice within the organisations.
Management of process reviews to conduct root cause analysis that can support lessons learnt.
Supporting the delivery of the Data Security & Protection Toolkit, Training Needs Analysis and supporting auditing across organisations.
Liaising with key stakeholders: the Trust’s Caldicott Guardian, the Information Commissioner Office and the key DSAR Hubs.
Management of cases via our internal case management systems: Microsoft Planner, Data Protection Console, “OneTrust”, and internal shared drives.
