Description:
Under the administrative direction of the Dean, the Assistant Dean for the subdivision is responsible for providing the dean with operational and instructional support, including planning, budgeting, organizing, administering, and evaluating faculty, programs and services. The Assistant Dean works in collaboration with the Student Success subdivision on SBCT articulated credit programs with area high schools, including dual credit for general education and career programs.
In this capacity, the Assistant Dean works with deans throughout the college, high school representatives, admissions office personnel, and the Moraine Area Career System. The Assistant Dean is responsible for creating, managing, and implementing administrative processes and procedures for grant and special project initiatives, including contracts, budgeting, marketing, and course scheduling to support the Associate of Engineering Science degree, Engineering Pathways program, and Center for Systems Security and Information Assurance (CSSIA).
The Assistant Dean will work with the Executive Director of Corporate, Community & Continuing Education regarding non-credit training programs and will develop processes so that non-credit and credit programs efficiently use shared resources. The Assistant Dean will represent the dean at appropriate local, regional, and national conferences regarding subdivision-related and grant-related activities. The Assistant Dean will work with department chairs in responding to student needs regarding courses and programs and will assist the department chairs in researching new opportunities for curriculum. The Assistant Dean is dedicated to the learning college concepts by developing programs and facilitating activities that promote student success and lifelong learning.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Master’s degree in an area that is taught at the College, or a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration or related field required.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in college administration and/or college leadership experience required with demonstrated experience in curriculum development, organizational development, management, or instructional leadership. Community college experience is preferred.
- Successful teaching experience is required, preferably at the post-secondary level.
