About the role
Balfour Beatty has an amazing opportunity for an Assistant Design Manager (MEPH) to join our amazing Major Projects team to work at our iconic Old Oak Common development in London.
HS2’s new c. £1 billion Old Oak Common station will become the UK’s best-connected rail station once completed. Our Balfour Beatty VINCI SYTRA joint venture will be responsible for the final design, construction, and commissioning of the station in Northwest London.
Upon completion, the new station will boast six underground platforms and up to eight platforms on the adjacent Great Western Main Line. Old Oak Common will also provide high speed rail services to the Midlands, central London, Scotland, and the North, as well as direct services to three major airports. Incorporating passenger and retail facilities, the new station will provide an exceptional customer experience for both passengers and visitors to the station.
As an Assistant Design Manager (MEPH), you will assist and manage on behalf of the BBVS JV and the client timely delivery of quality assured detailed designs by the Consultant and directing subcontractors to achieve the same for their detailed fabrication submissions, across zones and phases of installation.

OTHER KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:
- Develop and compile with Consultants technical design packages to the project’s program and key dates
- Manage delivery and coordination of all technical aspects of the allocated BBVS JV OOC Station construction Work Packages (MEPHFC)
- Manage the coordination between design and construction teams and subcontractors in support of the built program
- Support the Engineering, BIM and Technical Assurance (sub) teams to achieve Code 1 Acceptance of all Design Deliverables
