Description:

The role In this role, you will be responsible for fulfilling the duties outlined in Schedule 2 of the Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health) Award - State 2015, Nurse Grade 10, while aligning with the Department of Health values to achieve organizational goals. Your advanced leadership capabilities will support the delivery of the National Immunisation Program and state-funded immunisation programs in Queensland. You will provide comprehensive and authoritative advice on managing vaccine-preventable disease risks to internal and external stakeholders, including senior government executives and peak professional associations. This includes preparing budget bids, parliamentary briefs, and cabinet papers as required. Remaining responsive to evolving vaccine-preventable disease threats and community expectations, you will ensure successful strategic and operational initiatives through collaboration with health and non-health partner agencies.
Additionally, you will contribute to developing and maintaining high-functioning strategic partnerships with key Australian and Queensland Government agencies, non-government partners, and other stakeholders involved in preventing and managing vaccine-preventable diseases. You will lead the state-wide operationalization of immunisation programs, critically analyzing service delivery models and ensuring alignment with national and state-level programs and policies. Demonstrating advanced capabilities in utilizing clinical governance frameworks and risk management strategies, you will develop and implement management strategies that support safe and effective state-wide immunisation programs. Furthermore, you will lead a multidisciplinary team, managing change, building capacity, optimizing current and future vaccination workforces through clinical education, training and support, and enhancing the quality of the working environment in line with contemporary human resource requirements. Adhering to defined service quality standards and occupational health and safety policies, you will ensure the provision of high-quality, safe services and workplaces. All responsibilities will be carried out in accordance with Queensland Health’s core values.
The successful personTo excel in this role, you must demonstrate the ability to lead the implementation of complex, high-profile immunisation programs and services across the state, while effectively managing substantial budgets. You will possess advanced capabilities in driving and achieving strategic priorities by developing and overseeing local, regional, state-wide, and whole-of-government activities within the Queensland Health Immunisation Program.
Furthermore, you should be adept at consulting and providing comprehensive, authoritative advice and guidance on intricate immunisation program issues to internal and external stakeholders, including government executives and peak organisations. Your ability to assess, develop, and implement government policies, strategies, protocols, and priorities will be essential.
