Primary Function: To support the strategic development, implementation, and promotion of the college’s dual enrollment programs while serving as a key point-of-contact between high school students, school districts, and NCC. This position ensures students receive the guidance and resources necessary to explore career and college pathways, transition successfully to post-secondary education, and maximize their dual enrollment experience.
Responsibilities: (1) manages the planning, coordination, and execution of student information sessions and registration events to ensure a seamless and engaging experience for prospective and current students; (2) serves as high school students’ point-of-contact to enhance services available in the various school districts, including career and college exploration, academic planning and course selection, advising, change of major, matriculation, and college success by working collaboratively with NCC’s Admissions, Records, Advising, Financial Aid, and Academic Affairs offices as necessary; (3) assists in the development and delivery of programing that promotes students’ understanding of degree/career pathways and the education needed to pursue their goals and assists in successful transition of students from high school to post-secondary institutions, especially NCC; (4) aids in the strategic planning and implementation of policies and procedures for the dual enrollment program; (5) assists in the promotion and marketing of NCC’s College Connections program; (6) assists in the execution of an assessment plan designed to monitor and evaluate the continuous effectiveness of NCC’s High School Connections activities; (7) assists with the DE scholarships fund including the review, awarding, and internal and external communication and provides promotion for the President Ambassador Scholarship; (8) others duties as assigned
Organizational Relationships: (1) Responsible to Director, College Connections; (2) Work closely and cooperatively with administrative staff, faculty, and relevant external personnel on professional matters of mutual interest and concern.
Performance Standards: Performance in this position is considered satisfactory when: (1) mutually agreed upon objectives are met within a specified time frame; (2) responsibilities of the position have been carried out at a level of performance consistent with objectives; (3) effective cooperative relationships exist with other administrators, faculty, students, and other members of the community; (4) leadership competencies are exhibited in a manner consistent with institutional norms such that positive team/employee relations are fostered and employee developmental needs are proactively addressed.
Qualifications: (1) Education: (a) Bachelor’s degree from a Council of Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) approved Institutional Accreditor; master’s preferred. (2) Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: (a) ability to engage and empower students in making informed academic and career decisions.; (c) ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and projects efficiently; (d) excellent skills in interpersonal communication in both oral and written form; (e) ability to strengthen and develop channels of communication in cooperation with others on and off campus; (f) understanding of the goals and mission of the community college. Experience: (a) experience in academic advising, career counseling, and guiding students through college transition processes successful administrative; (b) experience at the college-level and/or in high school required; 2 years preferred; (c) experience working effectively with high school educators, administrators, and counselors to build strong partnerships
