Description:
We are recruiting to a permanent Assistant Director role for Social Work and Direct Care in Derbyshire County Council’s Adult Social Care department. This is a great time to join Derbyshire’s Adult Social Care department which was recently rated “Good” in our CQC inspection in 2024. We have an ambitious improvement plan with co-production at its heart to build on our strong foundations and to ensure that we continuously improve services and outcomes for local people.

The successful applicant will be a member of the senior leadership team and will be integral to influencing and delivering ongoing improvement. They will have a varied portfolio, including responsibility for mental health and area social work services, which include enablement services.
Interested candidates must have substantial senior management experience of working in an adult social care setting or in a health and other social care setting with transferable experience and skills. You should hold both a degree and a professional qualification, have experience of leading and managing a broad range of multi-disciplinary functions and have a comprehensive understanding of the relevant complex legislative and regulatory framework within which adult social care operates. You will have excellent communication, networking and leadership skills and be passionate about delivering excellent outcomes for local people.
