Description:
JOB SUMMARY
You will be responsible for helping us set our strategic direction and ensuring our inspections and thematic reviews are delivered to a high quality to support improvement in education and training in Wales. You’ll be an education leader with a strong track record of securing improvements, ideally with experience of our work across post-16 tertiary education sectors or within local government education services.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Key tasks include:
- Lead and set direction for Estyn’s future work as part of our senior leadership team, and ensure that our organisational development and culture supports this
- Develop and deliver inspection frameworks, guidance and practice across the sectors you are responsible for to ensure continuous improvement in performance and inspection practice
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality cyclical inspection programmes and thematic reviews
- Edit, corroborate and quality assure inspection and thematic reports
- Develop strong relationships with our key partners across the education system
- Lead, advise, inform and influence policy discussions with Medr and the Welsh Government
- Identify and oversee the development of activities to build capacity and promote best practice in the education system in Wales
- Line manage and develop a group of inspectors
