Description:

Responsibilities:

  • support the delivery of the Budget and whole-of-government financial reporting, including the Consolidated Financial Statements, Monthly Financial Statements and Final Budget Outcome.
  • perform, support and analyse complex financial consolidations to comply with both the Australian Bureau of Statistics’ accrual Government Finance Statistics and Australian Accounting Standards (AAS).
  • contribute to the implementation of the new AAS, including conducting research, assessing their impact across government and provide training and support.
  • provide advice on evolving accounting standards including International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and AAS.
  • analyse and advice on accounting treatment for complex events or transactions such as government investments, machinery of government changes and financial consolidations.
  • identify and assess new technology opportunities to create efficiencies and effective new processes/systems and tools/products
