Description:

The World Equestrian Center located in Ocala, FL is currently seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Assistant Director of Catering and Conference Services to join our dynamic team.
This role is pivotal in delivering exceptional catering and conference experiences for our clients. The ideal candidate will support the Director in overseeing all aspects of catering operations, event planning, and conference services, ensuring high standards of service and client satisfaction.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manages day-to-day operations, including staff supervision, budgeting, and event planning.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and expectations, offering tailored catering solutions and event coordination.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of events, ensuring all details are managed effectively, from menu selection to room setup.
  • Train and mentor catering staff, fostering a team-oriented environment focused on excellence in service delivery.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure quality and timely service.
  • Monitor and manage catering budgets, including forecasting, invoicing, and cost control.
  • Implement and maintain quality standards and procedures to ensure consistency and satisfaction.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continually enhance service offerings.
  • Participate in marketing and promotional activities to promote catering and conference services.
  • Handle client feedback and resolve any issues promptly and professionally.

Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in catering, event planning, or conference services, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-focused approach.
  • Proficiency in catering and event management software; knowledge of budgeting and financial management.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • A valid driver’s license and a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) required.
