Broad River Rehab is currently seeking a full-time Director of Human Resources to join our team! The Assistant Director of Human Resources will provide support to the Human Resource Department, executive level and regional management team members, and Broad River Reham employees, providing guidance in policy applications while ensuring legal compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
  • Ability to be physically present in the corporate office on a consistent basis. (This is not a remote position.)

    bending, stooping and stretching for supplies. Vision and hearing must be correctable to within normal range. Sufficient manual dexterity is necessary for keyboarding and operation of various office equipment. It is necessary to view computer screens and utilize keyboards for long periods of time and to work in an environment which can be stressful.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Required:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 7+ years in Human Resource management role within a medium to large employer environment (300+ employees) with similar areas of responsibility, demonstrating extensive knowledge and proven leadership abilities
  • SHRM or HRCI certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP)

Preferred:

  • Bachelor or Masters Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
  • HR experience in multi-state operations
  • Significant experience in the healthcare field
  • Experience in H1B visa processes

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with senior leadership to understand and support Broad River Rehabs goals and strategies as it pertains to staffing, employee morale, and optimizing services provided to customers.
  • Collaborates, provides leadership and guidance to HR team members.

  • Assists with the development and implementation of policies, processes, training, and initiatives to support the organization"s HR compliance and strategy needs.
  • Assists with administering or overseeing the administration of HR programs including, but not limited to, onboarding, workers” compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; training, development and compliance.
  • Monitors and ensures BRR"s compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Immediately reports necessary information to the Director of Human Resources and upper management when needed to address and resolve employee complaints or legal compliance issues.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate potential changes needed to upper management.
  • Provides guidance in relation to accesses given to staff/customers/business associates to BRR operating systems while following HIPAA guidelines related to PHI.
  • Assists employees with various HR questions and concerns. Reports necessary information to upper management when needed to address and resolve staff complaints or legal compliance concerns.
  • Works closely with payroll administration staff and other areas of the accounting department to develop efficient processes and procedures to streamline the sharing of necessary information.
  • Facilitates communication with legal counsel in regard to employment of non-citizens, appropriate management of complex employee issues and when employment legal disputes arise.
  • Performs other duties as required and assigned.
