ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF NURSING – NEURO REHABILITATION / COMPLEX CARE

Brampton care is the first in the west of Ireland to open a solely dedicated Rehabilitation / Acquired Brain Injury unit. Due to expansion, we are looking for a second Assistant Director of Nursing to join us on a full-time permanent basis.
We are the only Neuro Rehabilitation unit on the west of Ireland to have a full MDT Team including Clinical Psychologist, Physios, Speech and Language Therapist and Occupational Therapists all based onsite.
The successful ADON for this post will have the support from our Person in Charge (PIC) Director of Nursing (DON) and ADON.

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our dedicated neurorehabilitation team. The ADON will work closely with the Director of Nursing (DON) & Person in Charge (PIC) to oversee clinical operations, ensure high-quality patient care, and support the professional growth of our nursing staff. This role requires a visionary leader with a passion for neurorehabilitation and a commitment to excellence.
Although this role is for our ABI Unit there may be cross over with our Gerontology Unit. The Successful ADON will have the Support from our Gerontology ADON, DON and PIC.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

• Registered NMBI Nurse in any of the following disciplines General, Intellectual Disability or Psychiatric Nursing.
• Minimum of 3 Years experience in Management at CNM level or above years.
• QQI In Leadership and Management
• Ideally but not Essential background in neurorehabilitation, neurology, or related fields.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

• Assist the Director of Nursing in managing day-to-day clinical operations within the neurorehabilitation unit.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures.
• Supervise and mentor nursing staff, promoting a culture of learning and professional development.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Monitor quality improvement initiatives and implement strategies to enhance patient outcomes.
• Manage staffing levels and scheduling to ensure optimal patient care delivery.
• Stay abreast of advancements in neurorehabilitation practices and integrate evidence-based practices into care delivery.
• Participate in strategic planning and contribute to the development of long-term goals for the unit.
