The Performing Arts Center (PAC) office manages approximately 275 events and 6000 activities each calendar year. The facility houses five performance venues, shops, libraries, classrooms, and studios related to the instruction and practice of creating performance-related art. The PAC is home to the Department of Music and Theatre, which collectively presents approximately 75 public events each academic year. The PAC office is also responsible for a sixth venue, Page Hall, on the Downtown campus. The Assistant Director for Operations is central to supporting the operations of these facilities.
The Assistant Director for Operations (ADO) at the Performing Arts Center is central to the planning and execution of events in the facility. This position is responsible for the management of the facility schedule, oversight of the rental program, and managing arrangements and needs for all rental events in the PAC. The ADO works collaboratively with internal and external partners/clients and ensure effective communication between the PAC and clients such that appropriate technical support is provided for all events in the PAC and Page Hall. The position also supervises and assists with technical setups in the PAC. The ADO provides supervision, training, and scheduling of all event employees and coordinates their various work schedules based on the needs for events and maintenance in the PAC. All events in the Performing Arts Center will be handled with professionalism and with the highest possible quality related to efficiency, timeliness, and quality. Additionally, the Assistant Director coordinates maintenance inspections of the PAC and Page Hall, makes requests for necessary repairs and improvements through the University’s work order system, and keeps the Director informed of all maintenance or renovation needs.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelors degree in music, theatre, performing arts management, or related field from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization by September 1, 2024. Candidates who will not hold the degree by this date will not be considered.
- Minimum of 3 years of performing arts technical experience, such as in audio, visual, and lighting technology.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with event planning and management.
- Experience with facility/event scheduling software
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite applications, such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience using Accruent/EMS facility/event scheduling software
- Experience using ETC lighting and Allen and Heath audio
- Experience supervising staff
