General Statement of Duties: Assist the Program Director in day-to-day operations of the CSTSF Program. Collaborate with the Program Director, Parent Coordinators, and Departmentof Mental Health (DMH) to ensure that the program continuously provides a quality service to families in the community. Provide information, support, and services for parents/caregivers of CSTSF to understand the entitlements, and options of the special education process.
EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:
Must have high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of three (3) years
experience in the human service field, Associate’s Degree, or higher preferred.
Preference given to candidates who have received trainings by either the Federation
of Special Needs or Wright’s Law.
Must be experienced in developing a curriculum for trainings and workshops.
EXPERIENCE:
Must have a minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience.
Must be experienced in supporting families in an educational setting.
Must have experience in working with state agencies, schools, and associated vendors
advocating for the needs of families with children with mental health challenges.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Must have understanding of the impact of mental health on learning.
Possess a comprehensive knowledge of state and federal education laws.
Computer skills including at least intermediate level skills in Word, Excel, Power
Point (create posters, slide shows, brochures, and presentations) and Outlook (email
and internet).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
Ability to maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and meet deadlines.
Highly organized with effective time management skills, dependable, self-motivated,
creative, and innovative individual with the ability to work in a fast paced, loosely
structured environment.
Preference given to parents raising children with behavioral, emotional, or mental
health challenges.

Responsibilities:
- Participates in orientation of new staff.
- Provides supervision and training to program staff.
- Completes Referral Process for All Pin Referrals. Assigns to appropriate
coordinators within one business day of referral. - Oversees weekly and monthly reporting by Parent Coordinators.
- Assists Program Director in planning programmatic activities and events.
- Participates in Leadership Meetings with BAMSI and DMH.
- Oversees child care workers including approval of time sheets.
- Collaborates with Administrative Assistant in development of monthly newsletter.
- Serves as the Program Director’s designee.
- Provides coverage of Parent Coordinators who may be out on leave, as a temporary
solution. - Empower parents with information and support to become informed advocates for
their own families. - Develop and facilitate trainings on various mental health topics for parents, staff, and
professionals. - Attend family meetings with DMH or other services, and school meetings as
assigned. - Collaborate with DMH, associated vendors, Massachusetts Rehabilitation
Commission, schools, and vocational agencies regarding school related issues. - Complete activity sheets and other documentation as required and submit reports in a
clear, concise, and timely manner. - Execute duties to reflect reasonable safety standards. Standard/universal precautions
must be utilized and training obtained in areas that constitute risk. - Perform other related work duties as needed or as assigned by supervisor.
