THE JOB ITSELF

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Civil Engineering Services group based at County Hall in Beverley for an Assistant Engineer. This post is to assist in the preparation and delivery of highway projects, local transport projects and other civil engineering projects in accordance with relevant standards and the Council’s policies and procedures.
You will work closely with external consultants and internal/external contractors to maximise value for money and quality of service for the Council and our customers. This challenging post requires an individual with excellent IT skills who is self motivated and a good team player.
You will be able to demonstrate competence in an engineering related profession, knowledge of the construction industry and will be qualified to minimum level of NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification in an engineering or construction related subject. You will also have knowledge of the New Engineering Contract; engineering project management; CAD skills and have excellent interpersonal skills as it involves dealing with the public and other stakeholders.
