Description:
GAI Consultants seeks an Assistant Director of Engineering for our Pittsburgh, PA offices. This position will partner with GAI’s leadership to assist in the growth of the Pittsburgh market. As one of the region’s largest engineering firms, GAI has a significant presence in the Pittsburgh market with staff supporting numerous key public and private clients with exceptional planning, landscape architecture, surveying and engineering services. The successful candidate will play an integral role in growing the business and will have the opportunity for future growth with success.
EXPERIENCE
- 15+ years of experience
- Pennsylvania experience preferred
EDUCATION
- B.S. or M.S. Engineering, Master’s Degree or Equivalent Experience Preferred
Responsibilities:
JOB DUTIES:
- Lead and develop a team of project managers, engineers, and technicians for the implementation of public infrastructure projects and/or private land development projects.
- Identify project pursuits, market clients, and manage pursuits including proposal and presentation preparation. Coordinate and develop proposed scope, schedule, and fee for projects pursued and lead the interview team.
- Actively win new work from both new and existing clients by building and maintaining customer relationships, monitoring future work opportunities, communicating regularly, and attending client events.
- Collaboration with other GAI services such as transportation, water, CEI, planning, and landscape architecture/planning to market and deliver full-service project opportunities to clients.
- Directly manage projects on time and within the project budget and maintain a high level of client satisfaction.
- Monitor and manage the financial aspects of all projects within the group. Travel is estimated to be approximately 15% to other offices, meet with clients, attend project-specific meetings, and business development.
TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Frequently performs advisory or consulting work for the practice across broad project areas or within a specialized area with innovative/complex aspects.
- Assesses practices and requirements to achieve sustainable performance of complex engineering projects from a systems perspective.
