JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will assist in the production of tender estimates for our civil engineering projects. This role requires a proactive individual with a growth mindset and excellent communication skills.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A degree in a relevant construction discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in an estimating role or experience on site in the civil engineering sector is preferred

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Taking off quantities and obtaining quotations for material supplies
  • Taking off quantities, developing scopes of work for sub-contract packages and obtaining quotations
  • Accountable for ensuring tender enquiries to suppliers and subcontractors include the required level of detail and responses are received in a timely manner.
  • Analysing sub-contractor and material supplier quotations
  • Checking quantities in clients’ bills of quantities
  • Managing tender documentation and record keeping.
  • Demonstrates a ‘can do’ attitude and works collaboratively with team members, site teams, and senior management to gather necessary information and ensure accurate estimates.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with a variety of stakeholders, including suppliers, team members, and senior management.
  • Contribute positively to the team environment, supporting colleagues and sharing knowledge.
  • Proactively seek out opportunities for learning and development, staying updated with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices to continually improve estimating skills and knowledge.
