JOB TITLE: Assistant Finance Manager – Financial Control & Reporting

SALARY: £42,120 - £46,800

LOCATION(S): Halifax, Bristol, Leeds
HOURS: Full-time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least
two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and hardworking finance professional to support financial control and reporting activities for the monthly management and statutory reporting of Retail products, positively challenging current processes and encouraging a growth mindset across the team.
About this opportunity
This role sits within the Retail Financial Control & Reporting team in Group Finance Support (GFS) Yorkshire/Bristol, who are responsible for the financial control and reporting of subsidiary legal entities within Lloyds Banking Group.

Responsibilities (day to day tasks of the role)

  • Delivering the monthly EIR automated solutions for Consumer Lending and Consumer Relationships, focusing predominantly on Cards and Mortgages models [effectively spreading the costs/income of certain products over the determined life of that product].
  • Delivering prescribed monthly management accounts and conducts trend analysis on actuals to provide assurance for Retail Finance products.
  • Conducting research into actuals using a wide variety of existing processes and procedures to interpret data and identify possible trends.
  • Implementing a robust control environment over inputs and outputs – developing standard methodology which aligns with audit requirements and rolling out across the reporting teams.
  • Building a wide network of contacts across Finance to better understand the customer transaction journey through to ledger to enable swift resolution to ledger investigations and aid collaboration.
  • Proactively identifying improvements to existing processes, systems and procedures, including participating in debrief meetings and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborating closely with a large number of internal teams including stakeholders in Retail Finance, other GFS teams, external auditors and other third parties; and
  • Developing personal capabilities using existing formal and informal training opportunities.

What you’ll need:

  • Accountancy qualification/part qualified accountant or qualified by experience;
  • Strong excel skills with experience of Financial systems and a curious mindset that will drive process improvements;
  • Strong analytical skills and a good attention to detail. EIR is an important process within the team and requires Governance controls, SOX testing and is looked at in detail by the auditors. As such, candidates must be confident in communicating their understanding and the controls in place to key stakeholders;
  • Passion for Financial control;

  • Team collaborator.
