Description:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role in a high-volume food service establishment, preferably in a cruise ship or hotel environment.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment medical examination and obtain necessary travel documents.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Galley Manager in managing the day-to-day operations of the galley and kitchen, including meal preparation, service, and clean-up.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of food, supplies, and equipment, and place orders as needed.
- Ensure that all food is prepared and served in accordance with company standards and guest preferences.
- Train, supervise, and schedule kitchen staff, ensuring that all team members are properly trained and adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized galley and kitchen, and ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new menus and recipes, taking into consideration guest feedback and dietary restrictions.
- Monitor and control food costs, waste, and portion sizes to maximize profitability.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as the dining room and housekeeping, to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
- Participate in on-board events and activities, providing exceptional service and creating memorable experiences for guests.
