POSITION TITLE: Assistant Gardener/Horticulturist
COURSE: Seymour Golf and Country Club
JOB TYPE: Hourly, Seasonal, 28-32 Hours/Week
WAGE: $25 – 32 / hour

START DATE: March/April through October

ABOUT THE ASSISTANT GARDENER/HORTICULTURIST POSITION:

Our hard working and dedicated Lead Horticulturist is seeking assistance for the upcoming golf season. This position is a tremendous opportunity for an equally hard working individual passionately pursuing employment in the outdoors, and ideal for an early morning riser who enjoys an early start and finish to their day.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to effectively work outdoors in all elements (starting as early as 5:30 AM)
• Valid Driver’s License with a reliable mode of transportation is preferred (public transportation is not an option with our early morning seasonal start times)
• Previous experience in gardening, or something similar, is an asset
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs, and able to perform physical duties for long periods of time (in all elements)
• Experience with standard transmission vehicles is an asset

• Lawn and Garden Maintenance
• Pruning and Trimming
• Installing soil, planting and mulching
• Using power tools and maintenance equipment
• Cleanup and Disposal
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate
• independence in judgement.
• Assist with the Turf Care team on the golf course when required on occasion
