Description:
QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE:
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 14 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 18 years of relevant experience
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited institution
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
- 5+ years of relevant legal experience
- Admission to the bar of at least 1 US state with the ability to be admitted as In-House Counsel
- Ability to prioritize, juggle and execute on multiple tasks efficiently and timely in a fast-paced, complex global environment
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to all levels of the organization
QUALIFICATIONS WE PREFER:
- Relevant law firm experience (e.g., commercial contracts, litigation)
- Prior in-house experience in a multi-national corporation
- US Government contracts experience
- Aerospace or defense industry experience

Collins Aerospace is looking for an exceptional attorney to provide general legal counsel to the Power & Controls business. Based in Windsor Locks, CT, this attorney will provide broad front-line legal counsel as part of both the business team and the legal team in a highly matrixed global organization. Advises top executives as well as working teams in critical and strategic areas such as commercial negotiations and disputes, litigation, government contracts and regulatory matters, safety, employment, M&A, anti-trust, environmental, real estate, corporate governance, intellectual property, contracts and licensing law.
This individual will work onsite at our Windsor Locks, CT location.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Represents the company on internal and external legal matters, including supervision of outside counsel
- Proactively addresses legal risks in business-centric ways
- Provides sound, timely legal and business advice to team members and senior management
- Acts as a strategic business partner to review, draft, negotiate, and advise on a wide variety of agreements
- Other duties as assigned
- Must be willing and able to travel up to 20% (domestic and international)
