Edmonton Zone Continuing Care provides services through five main program areas: Home Living, Supportive Living, Facility Living, Transition Services and Palliative Care. We are looking for an Assistant Head Nurse – Team Lead to join our Palliative Care team to provide care and support to aid in improving the quality of living including End of Life for a person and/or family living with a life limiting illness. This position provides clinical leadership within the operational framework of Continuing Care. The Team Lead assists with consultation and coordination of daily operations to the Edmonton Zone Continue Care program, providing mentorship and support to the nursing staff. This position leads the team in day-to-day operations, evidence-based practice, quality client care, liaising with other stakeholders, triaging client care, and coordinating outcome-based practice.
Description:

As an Assistant Head Nurse, you will be responsible for staff assignments, patient flow and acting as a role model, clinical resource and advocate for nursing staff. In addition to providing frontline nursing care, as required, you will take a leadership role in the promotion of quality patient care and the implementation of operational priorities. Your in-depth knowledge and skills, advanced judgment and clinical experience, will assist in providing solutions for complex health care issues at all levels with patients, interprofessional teams, administrators and policy makers. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
