The AHN role for Unit 39 at RDRHC offers a chance to improve your clinical and leadership skills. In collaboration with the Manager, Psychiatrists, and the multidisciplinary team, you will meet the biopsychosocial needs of patients and their families. Responsibilities include direct patient care, identifying system gaps, supporting unit needs, participating in working groups, and promoting professional development. The ideal candidate is passionate about guiding young clients through care. Daily tasks involve patient care, communication with families and the medical team, and working within the treatment team in a Children’s Team approach. A comprehensive understanding of a youth’s holistic health is essential, and care must be patient and family-centric, aligning with AHS Values and Policies. As an RN/RPN, you will provide mentorship and leadership while forming strong relationships with youth, families, and colleagues. Strong assessment skills, critical thinking, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment are crucial. This position is open to RPN/RN candidates. This position has been identified and is anticipated to transition to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. As an Assistant Head Nurse, you will be responsible for staff assignments, patient flow and acting as a role model, clinical resource and advocate for nursing staff. In addition to providing frontline nursing care, as required, you will take a leadership role in the promotion of quality patient care and the implementation of operational priorities. Your in-depth knowledge and skills, advanced judgment and clinical experience, will assist in providing solutions for complex health care issues at all levels with patients, interprofessional teams, administrators and policy makers. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
