Your Opportunity:
The Mobile Rapid Access Addiction Medicine (M-RAAM) provides non-judgmental, rapid access, to a variety of addiction medicine services in the City of Red Deer. These services are part of an evidence-based care model that promotes recovery, as identified by the individual, for people living with substance use and addiction challenges. The M-RAAM is a facility that provides comprehensive care for substance and behavioral/process addiction concerns by addressing service gaps and offering alternatives to traditional service models, utilizing a multidisciplinary approach. The M-RAAM offers wrap-around services such as medical supports, addiction counselling, psychoeducational groups, relapse prevention, short term counselling, access to social work and referrals to social and recovery-oriented services such as residential treatment, detox, housing etc. The Assistant Head Nurse will provide clinical oversite to the M-RAAM team, assist the Manager with day-to-day operations, and optimize clinic function by demonstrating initiative, ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures, and creating/maintaining community relationships. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. Description:

As an Assistant Head Nurse, you will be responsible for staff assignments, patient flow and acting as a role model, clinical resource and advocate for nursing staff. In addition to providing frontline nursing care, as required, you will take a leadership role in the promotion of quality patient care and the implementation of operational priorities. Your in-depth knowledge and skills, advanced judgment and clinical experience, will assist in providing solutions for complex health care issues at all levels with patients, interprofessional teams, administrators and policy makers. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
