Join Our Notifiable Disease and Outbreak Response Team and be part of a dynamic diverse provincial team supporting the routine notifiable disease and seasonal respiratory outbreak response in Alberta. Under the direction of the Associate Managers, Notifiable Disease, Outbreak and Provincial Notifiable Disease Clinical Support and Emerging Issues and under the authority of the Medical Officer of Health, the Assistant Head Nurse - Notifiable Disease and Outbreak Team provides leadership and guidance to a province-wide team of multidisciplinary staff that conduct public health investigation and follow up for prevention, management and control of routine notifiable diseases and outbreaks of COVID-19 and seasonal respiratory pathogens in a variety of settings. As a key member of the in-scope leadership team, this position will apply expertise to assist at the zone and provincial level in developing, standardizing, and monitoring routine notifiable diseases and COVID-19 and respiratory outbreak response strategies, governance, service planning and delivery across Alberta. Description:
As an Assistant Head Nurse, you will be responsible for staff assignments, patient flow and acting as a role model, clinical resource and advocate for nursing staff. In addition to providing frontline nursing care, as required, you will take a leadership role in the promotion of quality patient care and the implementation of operational priorities. Your in-depth knowledge and skills, advanced judgment and clinical experience, will assist in providing solutions for complex health care issues at all levels with patients, interprofessional teams, administrators and policy makers. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
