JOB OVERVIEW
Due to the rapid growth of our unique trauma-informed provision, we are very pleased to offer a vacancy for Assistant Headteacher. This vacancy is for our Ashington site.
We are looking for a highly motivated and ambitious teacher with leadership qualities who wishes to take the next step in their career. If you are able to inspire students and staff, promote career progression, and have a positive and enthusiastic attitude, we welcome your application.
The successful candidate will join a small team of Assistant Headteachers who act as role models in teaching and learning, leaders in strategic direction of the setting, and mentors to their allocated site team.

Responsibilities:
- To teach a full timetable (contact time up to 5 hours per day) and act as a role model for quality teaching and learning.
- To work alongside a team of other Assistant Headteachers to provide a democratic leadership team, who report to the Executive Headteacher.
- To manage a site team for reporting purposes, including mentoring, probationary support, and monthly supervision, as well as minor HR issues and conflict resolution.
- To act as a Senior in terms of behaviour and pastoral support on any site on which you are present, including safeguarding issues.
- To contribute to the school and Alternative Provision development plan and to implement any actions as appropriate, and to take responsibilities for areas associated with it.
- To work alongside the Assistant Headteachers team to monitor and evaluate all curriculum based assessment and data across the school/alternative provision.
- To ensure that the school curriculum is delivered appropriately and effectively across the school, delegating where appropriate.
- To provide any required data in relation to progress and academic achievement to the Executive Headteacher.
- To support the Executive Headteacher to ensure all Independent School Standards are met and adhered to across all sites at all times. Delegating responsibilities as appropriate and reporting areas for improvement to the Executive Headteacher.
- To act as Designated Teacher for Looked After Children.
- To act as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.
- To represent the company in professional meetings.
- To represent the Executive Headteacher as required.
- To ensure safety, welfare and progress of children on all sites at all times.
