We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Assistant Health and Safety Manager to join our team. In this role, you will report directly to the Group Health & Safety Manager and oversee health and safety practices across our water treatment sites throughout the UK. Covering our sites with United Utilities, Severn Trent, Scottish Water and Yorkshire Water.
Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that our company adheres to all health and safety legislation, industry standards, and corporate requirements. You will manage and facilitate a structured process to maintain compliance, thereby providing a safe and healthy working environment for our employees and anyone impacted by our operations, as far as reasonably practicable.

YOUR MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:

  • Supporting the Group Health and Safety Manager providing the necessary support and guidance to enable all employees to have a healthy and safe working environment.
  • Deputise for the Group Health and Safety Manager during absence or when necessary.
  • Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of the strategic health and safety plan.
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of corporate health and safety objectives and targets.
  • Promote within the Group the continuous improvement philosophy.
  • Provide regular health and safety reports to the respective Management Board.
  • Provision of competent health and safety advice to the all employees on their duties and responsibilities with regard to health and safety.
  • Assist with the assessment of risks to health, safety and well being and facilitate the implementation of measures and arrangements identified as necessary.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Group health and safety policies and procedures
