How you make a difference:
The Assistant Health Services Administrator is a support role reporting to the Health Services Administrator (HSA) and responsible for monitoring and supporting the daily activities of the medical program. This includes a wide range of responsibilities, such as overseeing the medical staff, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and managing the delivery of healthcare services to patients. The Assistant HSA works in conjunction with the HSA to ensure the smooth operation of the entire medical program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepares reports and participates in planning, policy development, and compliance with national standards.
- Maintains accurate files and staffing patterns, and assists with payroll and labor control.
- Evaluates and recommends improvements to operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Maintains communication with facility administration, employees, providers, and agencies, while adhering to regulations.
- Promotes a positive work environment, sets a good example for staff, and addresses grievances and patient correspondence.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Hospital Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience
- Operational experience in correctional health care and delivery Preferred. Minimum three (3) years of experience in administrative and supervisory experience preferred.
- Organizational experience in operations and planning required.
- Experience in managing budgets and analyzing contracts is preferred.
Licenses/Certifications
- Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification.
