ABOUT THE ROLE
An exciting opportunity is available to join our experienced Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) Team at JHC. The successful candidate will be expected to have a willingness to learn, and an ability to be visible in clinical areas. This is not an office based position, although there are times where office work is required. The ability to work autonomously in monitoring standards of practice is required.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF DUTIES
A vital part of the role will involve visits to clinical areas supported by the infection prevention and control team. The role is to promote infection prevention activities and undertake a range of observations and checks in the clinical area including:
- Promoting current PPE guidance, provide education and support on donning and doffing of PPE
- Auditing and monitoring hand hygiene compliance and appropriately addressing areas of non-compliance
- Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with other members of the multi disciplinary team
- Taking an active role in identifying how the clinical environment can be improved from an infection prevention perspective and providing feedback to the clinical area and Infection Prevention and Control Team
- Participating in departmental and other meetings as required to meet organisational and service objectives
- Undertaking IPC audits and input of the data
- Data entry for Staff Health
