Description:

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Part Qualified accountant or equivalent
  • Experienced in financial accounting and reporting
  • Experience of Excel and formulas
  • Technology software skills to utilise accounting and treasury software
  • Knowledge of investment assets would be useful
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and a good application of financial controls
  • Excellent verbal and written communication

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an Assistant Investment Accountant to join our Treasury team on a fixed term contract basis for 6 months.
The Assistant Investment Accountant will process the accounting entries for investments into the Oracle GL and prepare monthly reconciliations of the related balance sheet and income statement accounts.
An important part of this role is to assist in the calculation of asset prices for utilisation in monthly valuation of bonds. This would entail engaging with the other teams within Treasury.
You will also provide analysis for the tax team for VAT and corporation tax purposes

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure all accounting entries are booked and reconciled in a timely manner.
  • Work closely and effectively with the treasury back and middle office team to ensure that the accounting data in Oracle GL is complete and accurate.
  • Month end reconciliations, maintaining and calculating of external loan facility interest etc.
  • Support the Investment Accountant with dealing with general queries and enhancing processes to meet best practise.
  • Ad-hoc investigations and tasks as requested.
  • Support the wider treasury team as requested.
