Description:

Gowan Milling Yuma is looking for an Assistant Lab Technician. This position will report directly to the QC Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Work as a team with other lab personnel on duty to make sure all necessary tasks are completed correctly and timely.
  • Perform in-process testing on particle size and moisture samples. Perform other tests as needed.
  • Enter data onto computer spreadsheets and release product that meets customer specifications following testing.
  • Communicate with production personnel on failing results or undesirable testing trends.
  • Prepare sample retains as instructed on Sample Plans.
  • Perform general housekeeping: e.g., clean hoods, scales, benches, etc. Put unneeded items away. Using overhead vacuum system, clean areas that escape routine cleaning such as behind instrumentation, hood gutters, KF titrino station, obstructed floor areas, etc.
  • Make up straws for KF analysis.
  • Stock work areas with consumables.
  • Calibrate scales in use at the production units at designated intervals.
  • Perform assigned tasks in a safe, responsible manner, complying with company and laboratory safety rules.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
