JOB DESCRIPTION
Abercrombie & Fitch is seeking an Assistant Legal Counsel to join the Privacy & Digital Operations team, within the Legal Department, which supports A&F’s operations around the globe, including in North America, Europe and the Middle East (EMEA) and Asia (APAC). The Assistant Legal Counsel will support Legal Counsel on matters related to data privacy and cybersecurity, e-commerce and omni-channel operations, digital accessibility, privacy-related marketing, and payments compliance. This individual will work closely with Legal Counsel and will also work with other members of the Legal and Compliance teams; business partners throughout the Company, including members of the Marketing, Data Analytics, Information Technology, Asset Protection, Supply Chain Omni-Channel, Human Resources, and Stores teams; and outside counsel. This role will provide support to the Company’s operations globally.
This job is located at our Global Home Office in Columbus, Ohio.
Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation and management of A&F’s global privacy program.
- Assist with cross-company projects to ensure compliance with emerging privacy legislation around the world, including related to processing consumer rights requests, drafting privacy notices for customers and associates, conducting impact assessments, and facilitate training.
- Collaborate with other members of the Legal team and advise business partners on how to incorporate privacy compliance into business initiatives, including human resources, e-commerce, omni-channel, and payments projects.
- Support the partnership with the Marketing and Data Analytics teams on all customer engagement programs, including SMS text and email programs, contests and sweepstakes, loyalty programs, targeting and behavioral advertising campaigns, personalization initiatives, social media influencers, etc.
- Review and negotiate a variety of commercial transactions with third parties, including but not limited to master services agreements, statements of work, data privacy agreements, data processing agreements.
- Research and provide practical guidance on privacy and cybersecurity regulations, privacy-related marketing and consumer protection statutes, and related legislation around the world.
- Support the Customer Service team in addressing customer concerns and complaints.
