Description:
OVERVIEW
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Logistics Manager to support our logistics operations. In this role, you will work closely with the Logistics Manager to plan, coordinate, and oversee the efficient movement of goods, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with company standards. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of supply chain processes, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Support:
- Assist the Logistics Manager in overseeing daily logistics operations, including shipping, transportation, and warehousing.
- Coordinate and track the movement of goods to ensure on-time deliveries and optimal route planning.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to avoid stock shortages.
Team Coordination:
- Supervise and guide logistics staff, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Support the training and development of team members.
- Act as a point of contact for resolving operational issues within the logistics team.
Vendor and Client Management:
- Communicate with vendors, carriers, and customers to ensure smooth operations and resolve any delivery issues.
- Negotiate with carriers and suppliers to secure favorable terms and cost efficiencies.
- Maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders to enhance service quality.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary 2-year diploma in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a logistics or supply chain role, with some supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of logistics processes, including transportation, inventory management, and warehousing.
- Proficiency in logistics management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with international shipping, customs regulations, and freight forwarding.
- Familiarity with supply chain analytics tools.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions to improve operations.
