Reporting to the Regional Maintenance manager, you will have high standards when it comes to property maintenance and be meticulous about the health and safety of both staff and guests alike.
You’ll take ownership and pride in your work and will support the Regional Maintenance manager in delivering an excellent service to all properties in the Cornwall region.
This role focuses on ensuring the seamless execution of planned and reactive tasks while prioritizing safety, compliance, cost impact, productivity, and other essential facets of the department’s functions.

WHAT YOUR DAYS COULD LOOK LIKE:

  • Providing planned and reactive maintenance for all properties in the South West region; (comprising hotels, restaurants, head office, HMO’s and light industrial operational property).
  • Supporting the Regional Maintenance manager in setting and managing the maintenance budget.
  • When the Regional Maintenance manager is away from the business, providing effective leadership to team reports, confidently handling queries and work requests.
  • Engaging with multiple stakeholders (guests, team reports, senior management, external contractors etc.)
  • Maintaining brand standards and a smart appearance.
  • Undertaking all general maintenance & repair tasks, prioritizing health and safety of yourself, team, guests and the wider public.
  • Completing emergency repairs around the properties.
  • Managing Reactive Maintenance requests across all sites, following up all outstanding jobs to maintain exceptional guest experience and a high quality of workmanship.
  • Assisting with managing Planned Maintenance to ensure building fabric, plant, equipment and external spaces remain in good operational condition.
  • Maintaining health and safety standards.
  • Collaborating with other departments to prioritise maintenance tasks and minimize downtime.
  • Conducting water tests and maintain swimming pool water to the required standard.
  • Performing tasks requested on the maintenance log and update log when jobs are completed.
  • To be familiar with the layout/ plan of all properties in the region and the working of all equipment within these properties.
  • Evaluating and address the cost impact of operations, seeking opportunities to optimize resources without compromising quality.
  • Ensuring all team are supervised and working according to company policy and the prevailing law .
  • Monitoring adherence to compliance standards and regulations, implementing necessary corrective actions where required.

JOB SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience in a managerial, leadership or supervisory role, preferably in a maintenance or facilities environment.
  • Excellent time management skills .
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously .
  • Full clean Driving Licence.
  • The ability to diagnose and repair day to day faults or to manage repairs through outside contractors when required.
  • Knowledge of swimming pool testing and dosing.
  • Effective at dealing with maintenance issues such as re-decoration, basic electrics, basic plumbing and tiling .
  • A can-do attitude and be able to demonstrate initiative.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.

Preferred experience:

  • Experience in the building industry.
  • Experience working in a multi-site hospitality, leisure or complex facilities environment.
  • Experience of plumbing, carpentry, mechanical systems.
  • Able to use excel and Microsoft programs.
